SOLI EDUCATION OFFERINGS
SOLI ENSEÑA
SOLI brings music education to life through SOLI Enseña. With children, adult, and composer programs offered throughout the year, there is something here for everyone! Each program is designed to let students discover and appreciate their unique musical voice.
I SOLO'D with SOLI
Listen outside the box.
Student pianists will rehearse and be coached on a complete solo piece specifically arranged for piano trio (piano, violin, and cello). The piano part remains unchanged from the original solo version. The ISWS participants will hone their solo and ensemble performance skills simultaneously, building on the experiences gained in SOLI Saturdays. Visit this page for the list of piano works students can use for this program. Where there are multiple pieces with the same name (Minuet, Ecossaise, etc.) a short musical example is attached for reference.

SOLI Saturdays
LISTEN OUTSIDE THE BOX.
Hear the music you play in a whole new way! With SOLI Saturdays, piano students use the chamber music experience to inform their solo performance skills. Through guided sessions with SOLI members and other guest musicians, students of all ages explore how their performance of a solo work can be enhanced and improved through interactions with other musicians.
Please note that each pre-college student (18 years and younger) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Additional family members are allowed to attend and teachers are invited and encouraged to accompany their student(s)!
Workshops are on November 4 and December 2 for 2023, and January 20, February 17, March 2, and April 13 for 2024. Youth meet from 10:00 – 11:15 am; adults meet from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm; student composers meet from 1:30 – 3:00 pm.
Register today – options for youth, adults, and our Student Composer workshops are available now!
Calling All student Composers!
SOLI has discovered and filled the hole in chamber music preparation for beginning and intermediate pianists. Likewise, SOLI has found student composers need to discover and experiment writing for a variety of instruments. During the 2023-24 academic year, student composers will interact with an instrumentalist per session, exploring instruments from all families – string, winds, brass, and percussion. During each session, students will be introduced to a new instrument, complete short exercises, and hear their compositions played by professionals! The suggested age is Junior in high school through undergraduate. These workshops will occur on SOLI Saturdays, dates above.

Academic residencies that engage and inspire.
SOLI engages with universities throughout the U.S. and across the world through academic residencies. Workshops, performances, masterclasses, student composition readings, and topics in professional development bring students and professionals together in collaborative and educational settings.
This season, SOLI will be in residency at University of Georgia from October 19th-21st, and University of Central Missouri from October 21st – 23rd.
